My hometown is Frewsburg, New York where I grew up and attended elementary and high school. I obtained an Associates Degree in Engineering Science from Jamestown Community College in 1975, a BS in Civil Engineering from University Of Colorado in 1978, and a MS in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University at Raleigh in 1980.
I worked in industry for about eight years and in higher education for approximately twelve years. My industrial experience includes working as a Class D waste water treatment plant operator in Colorado for 9 months. I also worked for R M Brown Engineering in Jamestown, NY as a Civil Engineer on roads, drainage studies, bridges and water systems for just over a year. The remaining six years of industrial experience includes working for Law Engineering in Saudi Arabia. This included work as a construction materials engineer, department manager, branch manager, and, eventually, general manager of the total Saudi Arabian operation.
My time in higher education has all been at Alfred State College where I have taught as a Civil Engineering Technology Professor since 1990 and have been Dean of the Vocational Technology Campus in Wellsville since 1997.
I have lived in Alfred since 1987 while employed at Alfred State College. My wife of nineteen years is Judy Van Loon Clark, originally of Livonia New York. She is a busy housewife with three boys Travis (12), Justin (9) and Derrick ( 5) who all attend Alfred Almond Central School.
